ever wonder when you should take your oregon senior pictures?

this Is such a special time for you (and your parents) and you are want to celebrate and remember it. one of the first things I will always ask you for is your vision for your session. having your own vision helps Make your session all the more special. your vision will help us decide together on the best time of year for your oregon senior pictures. this blog post will give you an idea of what each season might look like for your senior pictures and the general vibe of each season. this will help you decide which season is ideal for your oregon senior pictures.

winter is amazing if your vision is:

some additional thoughts for oregon senior pictures in the winter:

  • it's likely to be cold and wet, no surprise. you will want to have good shoes to walk in the mud and a jacket to keep you warm. gloves would probably be a good idea too.
  • because the colors of nature are rather monotone, it gives you so much flexibility for outfit colors! I think it makes winter kinda fun!
  • due to rain, we would want to be somewhat flexible with your session date. I always work with each of my seniors to schedule (or reschedule) the best date for your session :)
  • of course, if we get snow this would be the time for a snow photoshoot

spring is ideal if your vision is:

some additional thoughts for oregon senior pictures in the spring:

  • late may through June is typically peak wildflower season, the can of course vary depending on the year
  • it is still going to be muddy at times, so bring shoes you can easily walk in (can always change shoes for photos or go barefoot!)
  • we still get lots of rain and we would want to be somewhat flexible with your session date. I always work with each of my seniors to schedule (or reschedule) the best date for your session :)

some additional thoughts for oregon senior pictures in the summertime:

  • this is truly is the best time of year for senior photo shoots in the water. the water levels are so much lower, although the water is still fairly cold!
  • if you want a session in the forest, this is one of the best times because of all the sunlight that comes through the trees (but really any sunny day is great for that)
  • it is the only time of year where we get many blue skies, let's take advantage of it for photos! of course, you can have pictures with gorgeous blue skies whenever it is sunny.
  • be prepared for the heat and consider a sunrise session to keep cooler and less sweaty during your session. don't worry though if you get a little sweaty, I can adjust that in my editing :)

some additional thoughts for oregon senior pictures in the fall:

  • it is not always easy to predict exactly when the colors will shift, so if that is important to you, we would need to be flexible with our date
  • something I enjoy about late summer/early fall is all of the variety in nature you can get in a single location...you can have greenery and fall colors in a single location
  • we still get beautiful weather in early fall and we can usually get some gorgeous sunset skies
  • if you are prone to bug bites, make sure you bring bug spray (although the bugs loooove me, which is good for you! plus I usually have some with me)
